Tom Wells is a trailblazer in the audio, video, and home technology industry, with over 45 years of expertise. Before and during his studies in electronics, professional audio & acoustics, Tom worked as an electrician on large-scale commercial projects, which helped him build a strong foundation in electrical systems. This practical experience, combined with his academic education, gave him the skills needed to excel in the evolving world of electronics. After gaining expertise in electrical systems, he moved on to repair electronics as a bench technician and later worked in professional recording studios, where he specialized in commissioning and operating complex mixing consoles and multi-track analog and digital tape recorders.

In 1979, Tom founded Integrated Media Systems, a company that would not only support his growing family but would evolve into a leader in lighting, audio-visual, and home automation systems—well before these specialized technologies were widely available. IMS became one of the first companies to integrate these systems at a large scale, achieving both local and international recognition. Tom’s depth of knowledge in electrical systems was key to IMS becoming one of the first A/V companies to hold a Master Electrician’s License, allowing IMS to offer electrical installations alongside A/V and other home technology services. This unique combination of skills made IMS a pioneer in the industry, designing systems that were both innovative and reliable.

Kevin Wells, raised in the business, was immersed in the world of electronics from a young age. Helping his father set up home entertainment systems and assisting with the design and installation of distributed audio systems gave him early hands-on experience in the field. Kevin’s background in computer networking, combined with his practical experience in IP, optical telecom, and cellular telecom, has allowed IMS to stay ahead of the curve in adopting new technologies like internet-connected devices.

Kevin’s expertise in networking and security systems has been essential to IMS’s continued expansion into commercial security solutions. Together, Tom and Kevin bring a rare combination of technical mastery and innovative thinking, ensuring that IMS remains a trusted name in integrated technology systems, all while staying true to their family values and commitment to excellence.
